Who Even Is This Guy?

The name behind the face behind this site is Schevus Osborne. By day I am an IT professional focused on software engineering. Outside of work, well, I'd rather be board gaming. I live in O'Fallon Illinois, which is a suburb across the Mississippi river from St. Louis Missouri.

I got my start in hobby board gaming around 2004, when I was serving in the US Air Force. I was a software developer in the service, and we had a fairly normal IT office work life. Over our lunches, some of my team members started playing board games, and I got drawn in. After that I spent quite a while delving into table top wargaming, and I built a core group of friends interested in that area. We started playing weekly. Eventually we soured on wargaming and moved firmly over to board games. We have had four to twelve people gathering weekly to play for around 15 years now without any real interruption.

Outside of our weekly game nights, I attend some other gaming events, and am always interested to check out a new board game related venue. I play games regularly on Board Game Arena. I have not been part of the convention scene yet, though I am interested to change that! Ultimately I am passionate about board gaming, and want to see the hobby thrive. I am eager to play my part in ensuring that success.

This site is a one man labor of love for now, and working on it takes me away from what I really love, playing board games! So please be patient and considerate as I work to build the site into something meaningful. If you are interested in connecting, here is my BGG profile.

Local & Regional Content

As we established above, I'm a real person who plays board games! Part of why I created this site is to help sustain and grow the hobby, and a big aspect of that is through local and regional events and engagement. Below I will share board game related things I feel are worth knowing about specific to a regional area. These might be events, store/cafe highlights, or just my personal experiences with the hobby.

Likely most content will center around the St. Louis area, as that is where I spend most of my time. However, I do travel often and enjoy exploring the hobby wherever I go, so there may be content from other regions from time to time. This content will be more unstructured and will change and flow over time. Links here will not be permanent, though I'll leave any content articles up and available on this site even after removing the link here.
